Advice for my first tattoo in a couple hours?

I am going to get my tattoo done at 3 pm today. A celtic cross on my back right shoulder bladeAdvice for my first tattoo in a couple hours?
i have four tattoos and they are really not that bad.just eat or drink something before you goAdvice for my first tattoo in a couple hours?
You'll be hangin out for a little while so make sure you eat something before you go and drink some water or juice or something. If you are stressed about the pain, don't worry about it. It stings but you will get used to it (with it being in the same spot for a while)

Good luck! I think that's awesome you're getting it and the symbolism behind it. THATS what tats are all about.
I got my tattoo on my right shoulder blade back in September for my birthday..

the guy told me it would feel like a cat scratch on a bad sunburn.. and he was right. i didn't really hurt it was more annoying then anything else. plus the noise of the tattoo pen thing was bugging me.

GOOD LUCK =D
Don't do it. No offense because I don't know how old you are but when you are like 60/70 you will regret it because your skin will be all wrinkly. Sorry!
I have a memorial tattoo as well. I found the whole tattoo experience really cathartic and healing.

My advice: take a shower (because once you get a tattoo, you have to be really careful in the shower for a few days), eat something and find a way to relax. I watched TV for an hour beforehand to distract me from my nerves.

You'll be fine. My tattoo is on my shoulder blade, and it really didn't hurt that bad. I think you'll find the experience a really positive one.

Good luck!
make it easier for your artist and SIT STILL!
i have a tat on my back. it wasn't even a problem. the only thing that was bad was the fact that i was bored and fell asleep waiting for him to finish lol. it didn't really hurt except for when it got closer to the top near my shoulder and moving away from my back, so i suggest bringing something (someone's hand, an object, doesn't matter) to squeeze if you think you'll be in pain.

sorry about your dad, don't let anyone give you disrespect for trying to honor him, people show it differently. some wouldn't get tattoos, others will and that's your decision.
Get ';Mrs.McCartney 4 Eva'; lol

jk.,....get a gingerbread man
Have at it. Do eat a little while before you go and also make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand. You will have to be fairly still for a while.

It will feel like described, I have a few, one on my shoulder blade as well. The pain will be surprising at first, then after a few minutes it will just dull. Before you know it, you wil be all done.

Don't drink (alcohol) before you go. I know many people do and they are fine but it makes it easier on the artisit. You bleed more with alcohol in your system.

Make it easier for them and it will be easier for you!

Be still, no matter how much you ';think'; it hurts, you can handle it. Just relax, don't flinch or tense up as best you can.

Lastly, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS the tattooist gives you after wards!!

I have seen a few tats go really bad from people putting the wrong stuff on the skin after a tat, including infections and a big blurry blob of ink. No petroleum products and NO SUN until to tat heals. Believe me, your nice new tat can be a nightmare if you don't follow the instructions on how to take care if it afterwards!
You do what is best for the tattoo. That means, you eat about 1 hour before going it, you relax, and you hold still. Practice slow breathing, concentrate on relaxing each body part, don't tense up. Keep your sense of humor, make yourself smile. Distract yourself by talking, listening, looking around. Have a problem in your head to solve while getting the tattoo done.

All that matters is that you hold still, and make it as easy as possible for the tattooist to do a good job. That is your job.

Afterwards, your job is to do excellent aftercare for as long as it takes. And then sunblock for life.

Here's some sites that will help, and keep you occupied until you go in:

just be 100% sure you will love it when you are 70 yrs old.. if you are, then don't be nervous and pray about it.. i hope this helps :o)
Relax. Know it will be so worth it in the end. And I always drink apple juice before I get mine because it gets your blood sugar up so you wont pass out :D

Have fun!!
Eat something and do the toilet before they start nothing worse than needing a p half way through.Relax and enjoy.

YOU ARE A MORON.

That is all.
Take tylenol dosage for your age.
get a semi-permanent one and live with it for a while. then if you really like it get it done permanently.
