I got my first tattoo when I was 20 on my lower right back. It really wasnt THAT bad and I am SUCH a wuss when it comes to pain!! I was also TERRIFIED of needles at the time!! LOL I dont know WHY I did it or where I got the courage to go through with it.. but I did!! It really isnt that bad.. the worst part is the first 5 minutes or so.. then your adrenaline kicks in and it doesnt hurt as much!! Good luck!!Im going to get a tatoo on my lower back in a couple days. Any words of wisdom or advice for me!!?
don't worry about the stupid ';tramp stamp'; crap. if people have a problem with it, just don't look at it. that simple! anyways good luck with the tattoo. do your homework on tattoos! i've never had a tattoo but have done alot of searching and looking for information. here are a few websites to search for some tattoos. i really like http://www.deviantart.com you have to search for the word tattoo but it's worth it. hit me back if you like the resources!
Stay calm, eat a good meal before you go and take something you can drink from whatever position the artist puts you in. You wont chicken out if you've decided once and for all where you want it. Take someone with you, have your hubby go and have him talk to you while you are getting it. That will keep your mind off the fact of getting a tattoo as much. Don't go in drunk and don't take pain killers as they will localize any pain you do feel. Proper artists wont tattoo someone that they know has taken any thing or has been drinking. More bleeding is potential and from what my artist said people fidget so it takes longer. If it really really hurts afterwards take some Advil then. I just got my first tattoo and my best friend did at the same time. Hers is right on her spine and talking to her helped a lot. Specially when he was doing the little bits of shading in the center for a gem. It will look great, you don't sound like a tramp. It's just a catchy name so people remember it. Don't let them get to you. Happy tattooing!
Take a friend with you, or if your going alone. make sure that
';both hands'; are on your back and not ';probing'; elsewhere.
Get your tattoo, honey! I got my first one today. I will be back in that chair before long!!
As for Matt H.'s comment, my tattoo is on my left breast, and it does not look trashy. It's cute and tasteful, and I like it!!
Are you sure you want to get it? I know it may sound like it will be super cute, but when yourr 80 and your skin's all saggy it won't look super cute.
dont put yo husband name on there cause he might leave you then when you go with someone else and you gone get DUMPED!
You will be totally fine and remember - along the way if you need a break, just tell your artist! You can take as many breaks as you need to.
Here's a another word of advise - people who hate tattoos and are against them seem to spend an amazing amount of time in this section giving opinions about something not asked about. Just ignore. Get your tattoo, put it where you want it. Once you get one you'll be a part of a group of people who don't judge a book by it's cover.
Welcome to the tattoo club!
I got my lower back tattoo 2 years ago, and it really didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. Closer to my spine it hurt more, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. What I did when it hurt, was deep breathing, take a deep breath in through your nose, and let it out through your mouth. It really helps. Your body usually takes over and the pain isn 't too bad. It is worth it though. =] Happy tattooing!! =]
- Eat before you go in.
- The outline hurts the worst, they do that first...so if you can stay calm and make it through that, the rest is a breeze!
Something to note...depending on where exactly you are getting it...make sure you wear very low waist line clothes while it heals...that was the worst part for me...I had no low rise business suits and it rubbed while healing.
dont get something really big, bold, and obnoxious.
especially where people have labeld that area for tatoo's the 'tramp stamp'
get it where it wont been seen, or something that actualy means something to you.
not just a bunch of lines and swirls.
I got one there when I turned 18 before all this tramp stamp nonsense came about. It's a beautiful spot for a tattoo and I don't know why people call it a tramp stamp. They might just be jealous or something. Judgmental little bitches. Anyways, my advice is to bring a Snapple or something to drink. Eat before you go so you don't faint because of your blood sugar like I almost did. It WILL hurt like hell, but it will be worth it.
And for everyone who's saying it will look like crap when you're 80.......your whole body will look like crap anyways, so who the hell cares???
If the tat is going to go over any part of your spine, I'd suggest going with something that doesn't have a lot of detail and shading. Nobody told me this before I got mine, and it HURT. The outline wasn't bad, and the base colors weren't too bad either. It just got really painful when he had to go over the same spots over and over again. You might also try something small, that can be added onto later, if you want. At least that way you won't have to deal with it all at once.
don't get it. You have it your WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE! when your 90 and your with your grandkids what will you say...?
what will it look like when you have wrinkles? and you might say if i don't want it ill just get it removed by a laser, but the laser leaves a scar that looks like the tatoo.
don't get it; I've got two, looking back, wouldn't do it again. Give yourself 30 more days to think about it; if you absolutely have to have it, go ahead; but it's kind of like anything else, you get all excited for it and once it's done, your excitement quickly goes away; only difference here is it is a permanent alteration of your body; even if you have it removed, you will always have a scar.
Don't get it on your lower back because its a tramp stamp.
ITS SLUTTY GET IT ON YOUR BREASTS
DONT DO IT. Imagine what you are going to look like at 60+ Your tattoo will be around the backs of your knees
Dont get one.
