I'm taking my daughter to Disneyland in Orlando in a couple of weeks. Any advice?

We've never been there. Any advice or recommendations. What should we definitely do and what should we skip. We're going for the entire week. ThanksI'm taking my daughter to Disneyland in Orlando in a couple of weeks. Any advice?
Do everything, its all great. Try a character dining experience, they are a lot of fun.

This is what I recommend for first timers:

Go to the Disney website www.disney.go.com and take a look at everything they have to offer, there is so much. Do this with your daughter so she is involved. Make a list o the things you want to do most of all, call it ';cant miss'; make a second list of thinks that sound good and call it ';looks cool'; and everything else is on the third list.

look at the park maps and see whats close together, head for one of yur cant miss attractions and if its one of the most popular get a fastpass and hit something from your second list while waiting for your fastpass time to some up. Use extra magic hours if you can, see and do everything you can, everything is great. Take your time and enjoy, you will not get everyhing done in one trip.

Also use photopass, these are photographers who are Disney cast members, you will see them in the parks in tan vests carrying cameras, often close to major sites like the castle. They will take your picture and give you a card, you give the card to other photopass photogrpahers and you can see and order all the pics taken on your trip from the photoshops in the parks or online when you get home, that way you can all be in the picture.I'm taking my daughter to Disneyland in Orlando in a couple of weeks. If you haven't already bought tickets, get parkhopper passes. That way, if you're in, say, the Magic Kingdom, and you want to see the fireworks show in Epcot that night, you don't have to pay for another ticket. Also, I agree with the person who advised using the speedpass system - it's the best invention EVER! You can go do other stuff until your ticket time rolls around, then you bypass a good 85% of the line, and you're on the ride in about 10 minutes. Magic Kingdom is probably my favorite, just because you get to act like a kid no matter how old you are! Other than that, just dress comfortably, and bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses. Have fun!
Get there when the park opens and head immediately to the back of the park. You should get into 2 or 3 attractions that way with little or no wait because everyone heads to the attractions at the front of the park first. (This is a good rule of thumb regarless of what amusement park you visit.) I really don't recommend spending a lot of time in the Animal Kingdom. There are a few cool attractions like the ride in the Dinosaur area and the Tree of Life, but it's basically a big zoo. Epcot is really not that great either. I'd recommend spending the majority of your time at Magic Kingdom and MGM. There is more for older kids @ MGM and everygirl wants to see Cinderella's castle even at 12. :)
Take out a BIG loan to go!

And go to Epcot Center. I had more fun there than anywhere.

Hopefully, a hurricane won't hit Orlando while you're there.

Have fun!
You mean Disneyworld.........
I suggest the animal kingdom if your daughter likes animals. There are alot of great shows and there is a safari type ride.

Also, if she likes cinderella...take her to lunch in cinderellas castle. Its a bit more expensive but its really cool, at least it was for me when i was that age.
Have fun
if shes into traveling or likes to learn about other countires, take her to epcot. it has different parts of the world in it, such as italy, france, canada, usa, etc. it also has test track and mission space, which is a favorite around here.

if she wants to see characters, take her to magic kingdom. they have a place where you can actually go inside mickeys and minnies houses (theyre separate) and theres a huge house next to them that has all of the characters (winnie the pooh characters, mickey and the gang, etc.) if shes into roller coaster type rides (they dont go upside down..except in mgm) then mk is your best park (in my opinion)

if shes into movies, take her to mgm. they have a show with indiana jones, a ride with the twilight zone (elevator goes up and down) and various movies from disney. it also has the best firework show in disney world.

i live maybe 10 mins away from disney, so i would know :]
universal studios, has really good rollacoasters..hulk fire %26amp; ice

the waterparks there are always fun,my fav is the beach-that is in ice i forget the name tho,and disney land, sea world
Here is my advice.

*get there early. Even before the park opens. That way you will beat the bigger crowds.

* Have a plan. Go through the list of attractions and pick them in three categories. Must do, Want to Do, Don’t want to do. Make sure you go on all your Must do rides first. Then work your way down as the day allows.

* Use the Fast Pass system. All Disney guest can use Fast Passes. they are usually found on the most popular rides at the parks. There will be an area with machines where you slide in your entrance tickets and it will print out a card with a one hour window when you can come back and go on the ride. usual wait time is less than 15 minutes. also, the ticket will tell you when you will be eligible for more fast passes. us the passes to go on other rides while you wait for your turn to go on that ride.

* Go on the popular rides first! they will get the longest lines later in the day. At Epcot, go on Soar in' first. it has the longest lines. up to two hours! then everything else is much smaller.

*be prepared. it could rain. it is a good idea to buy the cheap disposable ponchos that are about $1 at Target or Wal-Mart. they are about the size of a wallet and will keep you dryer than an umbrella. and because they are only a dollar, you can toss them out. also comfortable shows are a must. don't use this time to break in new shoes because all you will do is get blisters.

*FOOD. can it be expensive. if you would like to try some of the nicer restaurants that Disney has to offer you will want to make reservations. also, it is less expensive to go for lunch than for dinner. so that is another option. you can always go to guest services (usually found at the front of the park, by the gate on the left side) to make reservations there. also, expect it to get busy during lunch hours (12-1pm) so you might want to get there a little early to beat the crowd.

that is all i can think of. feel free to ask more questions.
i say go to all 4 parks also if money is not a option i say go to a few of the charter dinning there is one in each park you can book now to make sure you have a spot also Disney i would say you have to go on space splash mountain and make sure you get to the parks early and plan to say late you do not want to miss the night parades or fireworks it makes it much nicer only park that doesn't offer a night parade is animal kingdom but spetromagic in MK and fantastic in MGM are out of this world and you would love it there is tons of key point in the park you might want to see if you want some more advice you can e mail me an ill get in more dept on what you can do an what not justanotherrodeogirl@hotmail.com
Get a disney planning book like birnbaums for kids. That way she can tell you what rides she wants to ride. If you are staying on disney property, get fast passes for the more popular rides so you wont have a long wait. You will need to get these early in the day cause they often run out before afternoon. If you plan to eat on disney property call and make dining reservations, otherwise you are likely to be turned away at sit down restaurants. We took my oldest dd when she was 12 and her favorites were Rockin Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, Mickey's Philharmagic, Its tough to be a bug, Beauty and the Beast Stageshow, Turtle Talk with Crush, Soarin, and Mission Space. Go to all 4 parks and you might check out typhoon lagoon or blizzard beach as well. If your dd is really into video games, Disney Quest is alot of fun.
Well, I believe that you could combine Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios into one day. Not much to do at either park. Have fun, and stay safe.
