I have been invited to an Indian baby shower for a muslim couple. Any gift suggestions or advice?

This is a shower being given by their American friends so I'm not sure that it will be a traditional Indian shower. I am a friend of the expectant father and do not know the mother that well. I just do not wish to be culturally inoffensive in any way.I have been invited to an Indian baby shower for a muslim couple. Any gift suggestions or advice?
Start them a savings account for when the kids older. Everyone likes money, especially nowadays!I have been invited to an Indian baby shower for a muslim couple. Any gift suggestions or advice?
Every baby shower around the world is almost the same. It's celebration of baby to come and baby gifts are always appreciated. Lotions, diapers, stuffed animals, pacifiers, baby blankets, etc... are all acceptable. Check out some more ideas at http://www.babyshowerwish.com
if it's giving by the ';american friends'; i don't see why you couldn't treat it like any other baby shower. well i guess maybe clotheswise. instead of clothes or anything get diapers? that's if they are doing disposable. maybe a cute diaper bag? why can't you just ask your friend (the father). i definiately would.
Think of it this way, every baby has the same needs. I would get a nice basket of items together that they can use. Add things like diapers, bibs, pacifiers and maybe a toy or book that you think is really unique. Surely they couldn't be offended by any of those items; it's stuff that every new parent needs.

Hope that helps!
