We are staying at the Pop Value Resort, but we will be getting the dinning plan and everything. (His grandpa is paying for everything has a gift!) What are some things you recomend us doing? The best shows, rides, resturants? We are not into spas or golf but we love rides, fun food, crazy resturants, shopping and the movies! What advice do you have for a couple going to Disney World for their honeymoon?
LUCKY!! lol. I wish I had his grandpa....
The Pop Century resort is pretty cool. I've never personally stayed there, but I've checked it out and taken a tour of some of their rooms.
Depending what package he got you, I THINK it includes tickets to La Nouba. (The Cirque De Soleil show at Downtown Disney.) i'd check into it and make sure whether it does or not, because you probably want to make reservations if it does.
(Assuming that you have the Magic Your Way Plan Plus Dining, or Plus Deluxe Dining. This DOES NOT APPLY if you have the quick service dining option only.) I think the dining plan includes a character meal. (Other than Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle...that one requires 2 ';points'; per person.) I recommend that you do this! I had a breakfast one time with Pooh and friends, and Piglet came up to me and plopped right down to me on the seat. GREAT photo ops!! (And it was awesome since Piglet's one of my favorites.)
Definitely ride the Soarin' ride. As one answerer already said, it's AWESOME. Also, the coaster at Animal Kingdom(can't remember what it's called). DO NOT rent a car. It's very easy to get around the parks on Disney's transportation system. Use it, and don't spend the money on a car unless you're planning on hitting Sea World or Busch Gardens while you're down there too.
I've been to Disney on 2 occasions for 7 days each. I recommend that you allot for a day each at MGM and Animal Kingdom (there's really not too much to do/see at these two, and you can easily do each in one day). I'd take AT LEAST 2 for the Magic Kingdom. And probably 1-2 for Epcot (one for the cultural part, one for the sciencey part). If you've got the Water Park and More option, hit the water park early in the day (ESPECIALLY if you're going in the summer). It'll be less busy, and not as hot. Then you could go back to your hotel, relax a bit by the pool, and head into Magic Kingdom for dinner and the fireworks show, Wishes.
Some ';Not To Miss';es:
Wishes at the Magic Kingdom
Soarin' ride at Epcot
Test Track ride @ Epcot
Space Mountain at MK (Magic Kingdom)
Tiki Room @ MK
Pirates of the Caribbean @ MK
Haunted Mansion @ MK
Small World @ MK (It's airconditioned, and this will cool you down in the summer too!)
Any of the other ';coasters';
Don't skip the classic rides, either, like Dumbo and the spinning teacups.
The Arcade where you can make your own roller coaster at Downtown Disney. (Did this once...it's GREAT.)
The night show at Epcot (REALLY COOL)
The opening show at the MK. GET THERE EARLY! It's well worth it! (I cried the first time I saw it!)
ALSO- If you can, take just a day for the two of you. Maybe just hang out in the hotel by the pool or whatever. It is your honeymoon afterall...
TIP- Disney can get hectic. If you don't have to make too many reservations, DONT! It IS your honeymoon, and you don't want to be worrying about being here or there by whatever time TOO much. (A character breakfast and the La Nouba show would probably be OK, but I wouldn't make ALL of your meals be reserved character breakfasts or anything.
There is also a VERY good Mexican restaurant in Epcots World Showcase. I can't remember what it's called though...
*ADD* Just remembered...the coaster at Animal Kingdom is Expedition Everest. Sorry had a brain fart yesterday when I answered this....
Also, the safari ride at Animal Kingdom is pretty cool too, and a nice relaxing break to a hectic day.
*ADD* The thing that Alonzo is talking about is FastPass. Your ';KEY'; to the parks is your hotel key. You swipe this at the parks. Basically if you lose this card, you're screwed. The way the fastpass works is this....
For the more popular rides (Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, etc...most of the coasters) they have fastpass. If you get to the ride and there's an hour long wait, you swipe your room key and it gives you a slip of paper telling you to come back at a certain time (usually a range of two hours, like 5-7 pm). When you come back, you get in the fastpass line and you MIGHT have a half hour wait. It's AWESOME.
You guys are lucking out by staying on property. Your room key isn't just your room key. It's your ticket to the parks (H2O parks and Downtown Disney too), your room key, plus you can charge stuff to your room on it. I've never been to Disney with a dining plan, but I'm betting that the people at the restaurants will have to swipe your card when you guys eat, too. What advice do you have for a couple going to Disney World for their honeymoon?
The Disney related place to shop is the Disney Marketplace because it has everything that all the theme parks have in one convenient location.A nice place to eat is in the castle at Magic Kingdom, you eat with the characters but it isnt cheap and you need a reservation.I love all the parks including Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios (not Disney parks but just as fun) except Epcot and Hollywood Studios.Epcot and Hollywood Studios barely have any rides so you should go to the disney homepage and check out the rides.Disney Marketplace is also a nice place for nightclubs if you're interested.Disney is very fun have a nice trip!
I have taken my family to Disney 11 times we have been all times of the year for different things to do we recently the last few years started doing the dining plan, whatever you do make sure you make your table service meal reservations now! You will spend the whole time waiting n looking if you dont. You may even be forced to do a quick service meal for a table service cause you cant get in a table service. You can call disney and ask them to send you a dinning plan brochure so you can learn the plan and make reservations and I highly recommend the book, Walt Disney World Birnnbaum's they have a new one every year its a life saver and covers every aspect of Disney World you can find it at any bookstore in the travel section its definately the best guide!
Your in DISNEY!!
Theres a million things to do!! :D
well, pop value is an awesome hotel, anyways you can go to Downtown disney, make your own rollercoaster is the coolest thing ever, and you ride ON IT TOO!!!, well you can also go to the Wolfgang puck resturant located right there, plus the food is deliciouss!!!!!
Make sure to go to mount everest, AWESOME RIDE, tower of terror, any of the rides in disney are awesome, when you go your going to feel like a child again!!! its just the magic of disney, well shows I dont know most of them are for kids, as I said before check downtown disney I am pretty darn sure there shows there, but if you wer going to universal, Ill be sure about it :]
Have fun!!!!
Make reservations for restaurants ahead of time. You can (and should) make reservations up to 180 days before your trip.
Don't go to the parks everyday. Enjoy some relaxation time with each other rather than trying to see everything.
Use the PhotoPass system so you can have pictures with both of you in it. I can't tell you how many honeymoon picture albums I've seen where it's always just one person in the picture.
Wear the bride and groom mouse ears! It's so cute. : )
Also try to book a reservation to eat at Cinderella's castle restaurant. I didn't even know there was a restaurant in there until my mom told me. It would be so romantic!
All the rides are fun! My favorite is the Haunted Mansion but go on as much as you can. : )
Also, go to Epcot. It's so great! Eat in one of the restaurants there. I liked the restaurant in Italy. Watch the fireworks at night too!
This is such a great honeymoon idea. Have fun and congrats!!

In May my brother went their with his wife. they went to all the places. To ride the rides they used something( i forgot what it was called) but they would give you a ticket and it would tell you what time to come back to the ride. there is a separate line for the people with the ticket. And best of all IT'S FREE.
Just make sure to do what you love and have a good time!!! And also remember to take lots of pictures so you have that memory forever!
ride space mountain again and again and again
