They are pretty small but they look like they are growing some of the leaves are turning brown though. Please help me I don't want them to die.I just received a couple of prayer plants from my aunt any advice for me .?
prayer plants arefrom the maranta or calathea groups, most common are marantas. both types require the same care and therefore, have the same problems. moderate temperature (not below 50), no direct sun but bright light away from window is good, keep soil moist--let dry out between waterings in winter, and keep air surrounding leaves humid at all times. the lack of humidity or too much sun are probably the cause of your brownig leaves. move to yhe bathroom, try misting leaves several times a day and/or place the plants on a bed of pepples
with water.
that said, i love these plants; their foliage is beautiful. good luck.I just received a couple of prayer plants from my aunt any advice for me .?
They can turn brown for a number of reasons. They need a lot of humidity. They need good drainage. When the soil looks dry, water them. Keep them out of drafts, away from cold windows and out of direct sunlight.
